I love the Niuean Culture. I have Tapas from Tonga and Samoa but I love the Niuean Hiapo. Each Tapa tells a story and it is very interesting to hear and learn the uniqueness of each piece.

The Blueprint was written raw and unedited on purpose. Take any "reviews" with a grain of salt. Many are now Nasa apologists who claim nonsense including how "bad" the book was written. --It's comical--

Theories are just that. Theories. Newton, Einstein, Copernicus, your "heroes", were masonic wolves in sheeps clothes who never proved anything as all space travel is impossible. We expose them using their own words. Watch how we do it. A page by page unraveling against pseudo science. This book has some good information on the flat earth if you can get past the numerous typos’ and poor sentence structure. You’d think that one of the “7 contributors” would have proof read the document. This book makes statements of “fact” like “there are universes outside the dome” without any supporting documentation and were just supposed to believe him. The book is large print, sometimes double spaced with lots of pictures and 2/3 blank pages. The most verbiage comes from the “forward” by William Cooper. But the “forward” is at the end of the book. Mr. Cooper died in 2001 well before this book was published. A “forward” should be about what a great job the author did, but not in this case since I doubt that Mr. Cooper even knew this book was going to be published. If you want to know what Mr. Cooper thought then buy his “Behold a Pale Horse”. If you remove the “forward” then the book gets greatly reduced in size. It should really be called a pamphlet. At $23.75 plus shipping it is a rip off. He has links in the book that have no corresponding URL. This book is meant for downloading as a Kindle edition at which point it would be worth the $4.95.

I always knew that the world is not like the powers that be says it is
By spiritlaughing
Everyone in the world needs to read this book. I always knew that the world is not like the powers that be says it is. I have read and reread the Bible and everything you need to know about this earth is there in black and white. This book breaks down all the lies that govern the people who are too lazy to think for themselves and readily accept what is spoon fed to them. Anyone with half a brain and uses it knows that you cannot trust any government, or people who work for it. Life as many know it is an illusion as plainly explained in this book, and backed up by the Bible. There IS God.

Satan rules this world at the moment and his best game is keeping those who do not want to see, hoodwinked. God is sovereign and satan's time is soon to be up. But right now, those who are too lazy and blinded are living in a science fiction created by lies, fancy phrases, silly unreal mathematics, ridiculous 'theories' that are based on NOTHING but air, and murderous governments that don't want you to know that God IS.

A wonderful expose and kudos to those who have the courage to liberate the world, tell the unvarnished truth, and try diligently to spread it abroad even at the risk of death.

A book that opens your eyes, making you want to learn more.
By Mike Helmick
The Earth is not a Spinning ball flying through space as you have learned as child in School. That globe in your classroom is a mind control device to indoctrinate you to the lie of the big bang, and evolution. It's used to remove the Creator, our great Lord God, the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Satellites are not real, I have included a picture from the Goes13 shown through the University of WI Weather site a moon they pasted in their weather Satellite live feed. One would think a University would have more care in what they tell the students is real or not, since they take their money. That does not seem to be the case. Students come out of these mind control institutions saying it's Gravity, it's gravity yet they are never shown a real world experiment that mass actually attracts anything.

This book was written by those that know and have inside information. it will open your eyes to the real world around you and remove the illusion you have been told is reality.

Suicide of the West: An Essay on the Meaning and Destiny of Liberalism, by James Burnham

James Burnham’s 1964 classic, Suicide of the West, remains a startling account on the nature of the modern era. It offers a profound, in depth analysis of what is happening in the world today by putting into focus the intangible, often vague doctrine of American liberalism. It parallels the loosely defined liberal ideology rampant in American government and institutions, with the flow, ebb, growth, climax and the eventual decline and death of both ancient and modern civilizations.

Its author maintains that western suicidal tendencies lie not so much in the lack of resources or military power, but through an erosion of intellectual, moral, and spiritual factors abundant in modern western society and the mainstay of liberal psychology.

Devastating in its relentless dissection of the liberal syndrome, this book will lead many liberals to painful self-examination, buttress the thinking conservative’s viewpoint, and incite others, no doubt, to infuriation. None can ignore it.

Review
''This somber, brilliantly written book attempts to fix the blame for the suicidal 'contraction of the West' over the last fifty years upon Liberalism, chiefly in the United States . . . It is at the same time a venture into the philosophy of history and an indictment of those responsible for the present disastrous plight of once triumphant Western civilization.'' --National Review

About the Author
JAMES BURNHAM (1905-1987) was an American popular political theorist and a noted author, lecturer, editor, and commentator. He was the founding editor of the National Review, founder of the Congress for Cultural Freedom, and director of the Free Europe University. Burnham, with echoes in Orwell and Lewis
By Richard L. Centner
Despite its age, this 1964 work holds up extremely well, offering an insightful analysis of modern Liberalism's appeal and its inherent flaws. With the benefit of hindsight it's almost a key to understanding how the years immediately prior to, and following, WWII saw so much interest in totalitarianism marching under the flag of liberalism. Burnham's book, and those of George Orwell for example, demonstrate why so many used idealistic words to mask totalitarian goals and platforms. Studying the political analytical works from this period are a worthwhile exercise for education and for inoculation against the evil movements that revisit humanity periodically and to remind us that C.S. Lewis was correct when he observed, "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." It seems to me that Liberals, more than any other political faction, insist on telling the electorate how good for the citizenry its decisions are.

Violating these principals is much like trying to add one and one to make three
By Rodolf Velicky
The book confirmed ideas expressed in to family and friends in the enclosed disertation

Tyranny is the Legacy of a Nation Without God
Rodolf W. Velicky

Education does not make an intellectual nor does an intellectual make truth. In the 1960's a cultural revolution, grounded in the philosophies of European Age of Enlightened thinking reached our Nation as the common knowledge of intellectuals; declaring that the world's Christian heritage is a manifestation of superstitious ignorance. Overnight, virtually everyone claiming the status of an educated modern suddenly became an intellectual with the freedom to create a vision of reality providing a permissive moral order defining truth as a variable, limited only by a political correctness, encouraged and legalized by political power. Prior to this intellectual revolution truth was simply a fact that conformed with reality. Under this new paradigm, truth becomes a versatile construct, developed for the convenience and advantage of political power. Modernism’s call to Multiculturalism, Religious Diversity and Moral Relativism rejects the law of cause and effect and the law of non-contradiction along with the nature of justice that every child know instinctively by the time he reaches the age of seven, when the Church would prepare him for Holy Communion with God. Violating these principals is much like trying to add one and one to make three. It is impossible unless the mind is conditioned in double-think to achieve a predisposed result. When motives are taken into consideration, this is the definition of lying and when governments participate in the promotion of such lies, you can bet your last dollar that the Common Man’s constitutional freedoms are the target. This is an example of “Creative Ignorance” that revealed the relationship[s] of contempt, held by pseudo-Intellectuals for the common man; his rights to self-governance and the grounding of these rights found in the faith, hope and love of God, as proclaimed and defended by the Catholic Church, consistently for two thousand years. Modern snobs, pretending to an intellectualism in support of ignorance are deserving of ridicule for allowing their passions to think for them, under the legal and public pressure of political correctness. Sexual license and crumbs from the table of political power come at the extremely high price of our democratic freedoms within this life and, more than likely, an eternal regret for a life lived selfishly.

America’s Cultural Revolution is not and never has been a search for truth. Man is a social animal, dependent on each other for survival, however he dies as an individual and in justice should answer for how this life was lived. There always have been Culture Wars designed to organize a segment of the population to prey upon the rest of Mankind for pleasure and profit. This modern attempt is a brilliant manufactured excuse to deny the justice owed individually and collectively to Mankind, as grounded in the doctrines of the Catholic Church and hinted at in our Nation’s Declaration of Independence—allowing individuals and governments to Choose a world-view as if the universe were designed for one's personal pleasure and comfort. Modernism has provided a self-serving excuse for the pompous autonomous individual to feast at the table of political power under the security of public law and public approval. America’s Cultural Revolution is a creation of a dog-eat-dog world in which there is no one to trust or love but ones self—a world in which Culture functions as a vulture feeding on the carrion of Western Civilization; symbolized as a snake feeding on its own tail.
My life experiences, examined through the simple common sense of a common man, revealed that intellectual genius has absolutely no relationship to mankind's hope for happiness. This mysterious thing called happiness is the driving force for human existence—everyone wants it, however, if its true nature is not recognized substitutes can result only in misery and unhappiness. Instinctively, every-man comprehends God-like attributes of divinity within himself, manifested as the gift of intellect and free-will. If this gift is to be appreciated properly it must be loved correctly: that is with a love for the Gift-Giver that must be shared with others with the same generosity it has been received. It follows if there is any reality to the spiritual concept of happiness it must be locked into the nature of love that can only be received if freely given away. The hope of being happy is unobtainable when love is turned inward by the self into the self. This insight is experienced as Common Sense and is an instinctive inheritance of the common man, passed on generation to generation through the traditions of the family structure where the concept of sacrificial love can be nurtured to become the foundation for happiness to the degree possible in this world.

When the common man and these traditions are held in contempt, denigrated and mocked by a snobbish culture it turns this concept of love into hate and can only be grounded on the foundation of creative stupidity intended for a devious purpose. The consequences are so disastrous for human kind that every civilization throughout the history of the world that have pursued such philosophies have all come to an ignoble end. America's cultural revolution of the 1960's is not the product of any reasoned system of logic; it is a pseudo-religious belief, grounded on ancient Pantheism or Atheistic permissiveness; modernized with a facade of pseudo-science on a foundation of modern psychology, euphemisms and philosophical double-speak for which no one is willing or able to provide a reasonable explanation.

The rules of logic, as developed in Platonic philosophy and used in Catholic Theology must be undermined to persuade the gullible that science has made the existence of God unnecessary for explaining ours. This is an intentional dumbing down of the culture by those with the talent, intent and opportunity to do so. The concept of happiness and God's unconditional love for mankind is inexplicable without His revelation of Himself as one God in three Persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This is a deep mystery, examined with the same logic science uses to penetrate physical mysteries such as light simultaneously being a particle and wave; as strong, weak and gravitational forces are postulated to deal with mysteries of time, space and the singularity of the universe at its beginning. Subverting the rules of logic to deny the existence of God destroys the tools of reasoned thinking and the road to science.

As I continue to reflect on the concept of Love I recall Jesus' command to, Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect and Love one another as I Love you. These statements define an awesome relationship between God and Man; especially when it is realized that God is offering to share His divinity with us. In John 17; 21-22 Jesus says, I pray not only for them [the Apostles] but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they all may be one, as you Father, are in me and I in you, THAT THEY ALSO MAY BE IN US.... This relationship is grounded on God's ineffable Love for Man: a Love that is reflected in the relationship among three persons in God—Father, Son and Holy Spirit. So that Pope Benedict XVI can say with authority, God is Love and has Loved Mankind into existence.

Modernism is the antithesis of sacrificial love. Whatever it wishes to call itself, that is, Liberalism, Socialism, Secular Humanism, Communism or Fascism, it is an artificial construct designed to use the inherent selfish gullibility of mankind to enhance and perpetuate political power. When the substance of modern thought is boiled down to its essence there is nothing left but the autonomous individual—a poorly educated common man, intentionally persuaded to visualize the self as the center of the universe in order to become willing participants in a modern version of ancient paganism. The modern autonomous individual becomes a convert to a Secular Civil Religion by simply denying the reality of evil and redefining vices as virtues, thereby transferring the moral authority of God to themselves under the control of political power. Votes are substituted for prayers with the hope for all good things confiscated and distributed through that power to the faithful. It is a false religion grounded on wishful thinking that reinvents ancient pantheism flavored with a dose of atheism to deify each pompous ego with the authority to define the meaning and purpose for ones personal existence. Modernism is a fantasy grounded on wishful thinking allowing the ego to worship The Self in a no holds barred competition with all other Selves—a recipe for anarchy and barbarism, a universal divisiveness of all against all, that is noticeably accelerating toward this logical end around the world and in our Nation. There is no Happiness, in this world or the next, for winners or losers driven by selfishness, envy and hate, through a world-view well described as a snake feeding on its own tail.

Modernism has an extremely long history of failures and disasters for humanity. It began with the Renascence about five hundred years ago. It was followed by a Post-renascence era that gave us the Reformation, the Age of Enlightenment, the French Revolution, World War I & II, Fascism, Communism, the Cold War and a cowardice that allows today's Islamic Terrorism. The common denominator among all these roads to Utopia is the belief among pseudo-Intellectuals that it is possible to make truth and with a good line of bulls... to restore the absolute power enjoyed by ruling classes throughout the ages. The fruits of these ideologies are and always have been a disaster for the common man and as always the intelligentsia have given him evermore clever ways to suffer evil, experienced as reality under the misnomer social justice.

The autonomous individual promoting a world defined by Moral Relativism, Multiculturalism and Religious Diversity without an intellectual rationale for doing so is setting up the world for Political Tyranny. Digesting evil to justify personal lusts fosters a world of chaos that can only be controlled by economic coercion and physical force—a legacy of oppression defined as Tyranny.

By Jeffrey N. Mccollum
Written in the 1960's, this book has a contemporary feel to it. (Since I was in college in the 60's examples which are familiar to me may not be so familiar to younger readers but they are still relevant.) This is the clearest explication of the liberal/progressive ideology that I have read. Although I disagree with much of what President Obama has done, I put this book down feeling that I understood his actions as consistent with the ideology described by Burnham. Secretary Clinton seems cut from the same cloth. By laying out the left's ideology, Burnham helped me get clearer on my own which are center-right to libertarian.

Luke is a young playwright—intense, magnetic, and eager for life. He escapes a disastrous upbringing in the northeast and, arriving in London, meets Paul Driscoll, an aspiring producer, and the beautiful, fiery Leigh Radley, the woman Paul loves.

The three set up a radical theater company, living and working together, forging a romantic connection in candlelit rehearsal rooms during power cuts and smoky late-night parties in Chelsea's run-down flats. The gritty rebellion of pub theater is fighting for its place against a West End dominated by racy revue shows and the giants of twentieth-century drama.

Nina Jacobs is a fragile actress, bullied by her mother and in thrall to a controlling producer. When Luke meets Nina, he recognizes a soul in danger—but how much must he risk to save her?

Everything he has fought for—loyalty, friendship, art—is drawn into the heat of their collision. Now everything Luke values, even the promise of the future, is in danger. Suddenly the fallout threatens to be immense.

*Starred Review* This intoxicating, deeply romantic novel of theater, love, and friendship is set in London during the 1970s. Luke Kanowski is desperate to escape his provincial hometown and the specter of his mentally ill mother, locked away in an asylum, and his depressed father, who numbs himself with drink. When Luke moves to London and falls in with aspiring producer Paul Driscoll and Paul’s girlfriend, Leigh Radley, he finally feels that he has found a home for himself, both personally and artistically. The three form a repertory company, madly building sets, holding casting calls, and searching for the best scripts. And although Luke is loath to show anyone his work, he spends hours locked in his room, pouring his experiences onto paper. When he finally emerges with a script that becomes a hugely successful play, he finds that artistic triumph is more complicated than he could ever have imagined, especially when his married lover, fragile actress Nina Jacobs, becomes obsessed with landing a part in the play, despite the fact that she is wrong for the part. With both microscopic precision and operatic emotions, Jones, in her fourth novel (after The Uninvited Guests, 2012), perfectly captures the exhilaration of the young and the talented as they find their footing in both art and love. --Joanne Wilkinson

Review
“Jones is unflinching as she plots the course of fallout with no shelter, of wounded lives undone by desperation in love and art.” (The New York Times)

“The strength of Fallout is the insistent thread of hope that runs through all the humiliation and bad behavior. The result is…a fuller, more emotionally satisfying story.” (The Wall Street Journal)

“The novel is at its best when the characters quietly seek an audience for their pleasures, their pains, and the ‘more permanent wounds of their longer lives waiting, undiscovered.’” (New Yorker)

“[A] wonderful read. Surprising depth of character, accidents of fate that feel like life, and emotional FALLOUT that heralds new maturity, make this a very satisfying novel.” (Not Another Book Review (Blog))

“Emotionally charged.” (Glamour)

“An intoxicating, deeply romantic novel of theater, love, and friendship…With both microscopic precision and operatic emotions, Sadie Jones perfectly captures the exhilaration of the young and the talented as they find their footing in both art and love.” (Booklist (starred review))

“An intoxicating and immersive read... It is a fraught and compelling novel; one that replays itself uncomfortably in the mind long after it is finished.” (Lucy Atkins, The Sunday Times)

“Beautifully written... An intense and absorbing story.” (Deirdre O'Brien, Sunday Mirror)

“An intelligent, pacy tale of pretty, talented people, striving for recognition but held back by their past…. Every summer needs a One Day-style read; this book is a contender for that crown.” (Anne Ashworth, The Times)

“On a par with the Barneses and McEwans of this parish… Jones’s gift - like all great writers - is to leave us wanting so desperately to believe that the story will continue without us once the scenery has been cleared away.” (Elizabeth Day, Observer)

“Jones highlights beautifully the energetic, naive, cheap red-wine fug of the Seventies start-up, and its decadent antithesis, the emptiness of fatally compromised success.” (Catherine Taylor,

Fallout
By Sandra Iler Kirkland
They came together in their twenties, each eager to make their way in the world of English theatre. Luke Kanowski has come to London from his little English town, not sure how he will work his way into the world of theatre, but knowing that he must. Luke has written for years and has a box full of plays. He meets his two best friends, Paul Driscoll and Leigh Radley, who are also fighting for a chance to make it in the world. Paul is a producer. He knows he doesn't have creative talent but has a feel for what works and what doesn't on stage. Leigh hopes to direct, but fills in the time doing stage management.

Luke feels at home with Paul and Leigh and they all live together in a small flat. Paul and Leigh are a couple and Luke is with family when he is with them. As time goes on, the trio start to have success as Luke's plays are commissioned and put on stage. Paul, of course, is involved in their production and Leigh keeps everyone sane. Then Luke meets Nina. Nina is an actress, never sure of her talent. She is married to Tony, who is manipulative and cold, but as soon as she and Luke meet, the fireworks explode. Luke must have her, regardless of what it takes. Soon it takes everything.

Sadie Jones has written a breathtaking novel that keeps the reader turning pages. Everything is there; friendship, love, romance, betrayal, forgiveness and hate. The reader is drawn into the lives of these friends and must read on to see if their lives can work out as the years conspire to take things from them. Sadie Jones was a finalist for the Orange Prize for Fiction with her novel, The Outcast, which also won the Costa First Novel Award. Fallout will also probably be nominated for awards as it is a book that cannot be ignored. Jones captures the creative urge and what individuals will sacrifice for the chance to be part of a creative world. This book is recommended for readers of literary fiction.

"The fallout that had warped his heart."
By Amelia Gremelspacher
This novel is about the failure of mother love. In the end, the point of the intersecting love triangles had not been raised in human love. Luke's mother is insane and lives in an asylum. All his best efforts cannot save her, and as an adult, he misses the connection to women as one he can successfully maintain. The charismatic Luke is drawn to Nina, abandoned to an aunt until old enough to server as the focus of her stage mother. The constellation of missed opportunities and the love that Luke is meant to find, is complex. All in all it is a witty book with some pithy and apt observatons on life and love. Many of the scenes are exceptional in their ability to touch on the realities and pains of love.

My primary problem is the central assumption that these characters can be fatally wounded from childhood. It has some patent truth, but these characters are too complex for this simple poison to shape all of a lifetime. Luke's other love interest Leigh is of a solid background and she recognizes the stain , "the fallout" of Luke's core. As beguinling as it is, the premise is just too simple to account for all the damage that these intelligent and thoughtful people wreck on each other and the world.

By Catherine F Hanrahan
Fallout is the story of four young people trying to make it in the world of experimental theatre in 1970s London. In a chance meeting in his Lincolnshire village, Luke Kanowski meets the fiery Leigh Radley and Paul Driscoll on their way to meet a playwright. Its the impetus that Luke needs to escape his dull life in an office job and run away to London and immerse himself in the theatre world. He's leaving behind a mother who has been in an asylum nearly all his life, and a father who is slowly drinking himself to death. Luke and Paul set up their own theatre company called Graft, while Luke secretly writes plays at night and Leigh works as a stage manager to pay the bills.

Luke and Paul are strongly attracted to Leigh, but its Paul she chooses when Luke rebuffs her.

Running parallel is the story of Nina Jacobs, a budding actress whose life will intersect with the other three in a dramatic way. She's grown up with a mother who is a monster - a fading narcissistic actress who is now pinning her hopes on her daughter. A critical step is marrying her off to the successful and influential but cruel Tony Moore.

When Luke's first play is critically acclaimed, its seems natural that Paul and his new theatre company will produce his second offering. But Luke has become entangled with Nina and the liaison will have huge ramifications for all of them.

There are so many things to love about this book. The characterisation is brilliant. Luke, Nina, Leigh and Paul are all convincingly portrayed and always consistent. Luke is emotionally stunted as a result of his neglected upbringing and the way he clings to Paul and Leigh in the flat they share as his replacement family is touching and believable. He beds lots of women but is unable to have a fulfilling relationship and the reader's sympathy is with him all the way.

I read an interview with Sadie Jones talking about the character of Nina and how she created in Nina the kind of woman she really hates. But I felt sorry for Nina because her mother was so dreadful and even at her worst, I could not help but see what a tortured soul she is.

The period is brilliantly evoked, from the walks through dark streets during the power cuts, to the fears that the bomb has been dropped, the grimness of 1970s London is painted very subtly. Jones does well to drop in these details without straining, which I find a problem in some historical fiction. You can almost smell the beer wafting up the stairs of the pub theatre.

And there's some outstanding writing - Luke seducing the au pair at a party, 'and his thoughts were reduced gratefully to the heated maths of getting inside her clothes, taking up all of him in blessed focus' and overcome with desire 'burning and aching within and without from her imprint'.

The plot is not complex but evolves from the distinct failings of the characters and their obsessions. The climax and ending are really satisfying for this reason.

And that reminds me of an article I read recently on writing tips from Booker Prize winners. The one that stayed in my mind was from Arundhati Roy, the winner in 1997 for The God of Small Things.

She said “…the secret of the Great Stories is that they have no secrets....They don’t deceive you with thrills and trick endings. They don’t surprise you with the unforeseen...You know how they end, yet you listen as though you don’t."

This is the best book I've read this year and I've already added Sadie Jones' other books to my birthday wish list.

The authors also present design principles for widely used stream ciphers and block ciphers including RC4, DES, and AES, plus provide provable constructions of stream ciphers and block ciphers from lower-level primitives. The second half of the book covers public-key cryptography, beginning with a self-contained introduction to the number theory needed to understand the RSA, Diffie-Hellman, and El Gamal cryptosystems (and others), followed by a thorough treatment of several standardized public-key encryption and digital signature schemes.

Integrating a more practical perspective without sacrificing rigor, this widely anticipated Second Edition offers improved treatment of:

  • Stream ciphers and block ciphers, including modes of operation and design principles
  • Authenticated encryption and secure communication sessions
  • Hash functions, including hash-function applications and design principles
  • Attacks on poorly implemented cryptography, including attacks on chained-CBC encryption, padding-oracle attacks, and timing attacks
  • The random-oracle model and its application to several standardized, widely used public-key encryption and signature schemes
  • Elliptic-curve cryptography and associated standards such as DSA/ECDSA and DHIES/ECIES

Containing updated exercises and worked examples, Introduction to Modern Cryptography, Second Edition can serve as a textbook for undergraduate- or graduate-level courses in cryptography, a valuable reference for researchers and practitioners, or a general introduction suitable for self-study.

Review

"The work is comprehensive, rigorous, and yet accessible for dedicated students."
―Computing Reviews, October 2015

"… this book fills a significant gap among previous cryptography textbooks by explicitly discussing the philosophy behind this approach, gradually building up the relevant theory and giving a broad overview of the discipline conceived within this framework. The result is a coherent picture of the field that provides a pleasing clarity in its explanation of this perspective through a systematic, step-by-step development of important concepts. … The material from the first edition has been restructured and expanded, with an emphasis on practical aspects that provides a nice counterpoint to the theory and helps to highlight its real-world relevance. … This textbook is appropriate for use in teaching at either an advanced undergraduate or graduate level … a particularly valuable resource for graduate students with a computer science or mathematics background who are seeking a pathway to understanding the current cryptography research literature. In the preface, the authors mention their aim of treating modern cryptography through a unified approach that is rigorous yet accessible―Introduction to Modern Cryptography achieves this admirably."
―Mathematical Reviews, August 2015

Praise for the First Edition:
"This book is a comprehensive, rigorous introduction to what the authors name ‘modern’ cryptography. … a novel approach to how cryptography is taught, replacing the older, construction-based approach. … The concepts are clearly stated, both in an intuitive fashion and formally. … I would heartily recommend this book to anyone who is interested in cryptography. … The exercises are challenging and interesting, and can benefit readers of all academic levels."
―IACR Book Reviews, January 2010

"Over the past 30 years, cryptography has been transformed from a mysterious art into a mathematically rigorous science. The textbook by Jonathan Katz and Yehuda Lindell finally makes this modern approach to cryptography accessible to a broad audience. Readers of this text will learn how to think precisely about the security of protocols against arbitrary attacks, a skill that will remain relevant and useful regardless of how technology and cryptography standards change. The book uses just enough formalism to maintain precision and rigor without obscuring the development of ideas. It manages to convey both the theory's conceptual beauty and its relevance to practice. I plan to use it every time I teach an undergraduate course in cryptography."
―Salil Vadhan, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA

"The greatest attribute is the fact that the material is presented in such a unified way. This is not just a collection of topics from cryptography thrown together at random. One topic leads effortlessly to the next. As such, this is a virtually indispensable resource for modern cryptography."
―Donald L. Vestal, South Dakota State University, Brookings, USA, MAA Online, July 2008

"… an excellent introduction to the theoretical background of cryptography. It would be a fine textbook for an advanced undergraduate (or graduate) course in theoretical computer science for students who have already seen the rudiments of cryptography. It will be a valuable reference for researchers in the field."
―Steven D. Galbraith, Mathematical Reviews, 2009

"The book is highly recommended as a textbook in cryptography courses at graduate or advanced undergraduate levels. … covers, in a splendid way, the main notions of current cryptography from the point of view of information-theoretical security. This corresponds indeed to a modern cryptography approach."
―Guillermo Morales-Luna, Zentralblatt MATH, Vol. 1143

Very rigorous and complete, completely worthwhile if you are really into crypto
By Artur
I have not finished the book yet, but from material I went so far and from Jonathan Katz's course on Cryptography I think I can describe authors way of providing information. I would characterize it in two keywords: rigorous and complete. Other materials I have met were maybe more lively but this one is is the best if you are really serious about crypto. It will give all the details you need to understand and work with modern cryptographic primitives. I will teach how to prove or disprove properties of various cryptographic schemes.

Good as a serious introduction
By Rapid Logic
This is a serious introduction book. I enjoyed Katz's course on Coursera.

Note this is theoretical. If you are looking for material on hardware or physical attacks like side channel attacks or fault injection attacks, you will need to look elsewhere. With that said, it is useful as a reference even after you have digested the material because Katz is very particular with rigor, notation, and word choice -- the result of a mathematician who cares about communication.
